decorative log cap

A decorative log cap is a polyurethane finishing piece that covers the exposed end section of a log or half-log profile. It is used at the ends of decorative ceiling logs and beams to cover the exposed cut surface and finish it neatly. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell, or warp, and can be painted. A ready-made end cap conceals the end of the log profile and completes the installation. Cast in a mould, the wood grain repeats on the cap too, matching the log.
