Polyurethane Decorative Wood-Look Beam Design

The P1981A is a premium polyurethane decorative wood-look beam designed to bring the rustic charm and cozy warmth of natural timber into modern architectural spaces. Measuring 90 mm in width, 3000 mm in length, and 60 mm in height, this long-format profile is ideal for creating expansive ceiling grids and faux rafter installations. It offers a sophisticated alternative to heavy solid wood, allowing designers and homeowners to achieve a historic chalet or country-style aesthetic without structural modifications or excessive load-bearing concerns.

Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), the P1981A provides exceptional durability and a hard surface close to real wood. Despite its robust mechanical strength, the beam is incredibly lightweight, ensuring safe and easy handling during installation. With a closed-cell structure, the material boasts a water absorption rate of under 1% and high dimensional stability, meaning it will not warp, shrink, rot, or crack over time. Its dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C, making it highly reliable for diverse climates.

Visually, the product features an intensely detailed, hand-hewn rustic texture. The surface showcases deep wood grain patterns, natural-looking cracks, and aged knots that mimic centuries-old timber sleepers. This highly realistic relief is far superior to expanded polystyrene (EPS) alternatives, which lack both the tactile depth and physical resistance of rigid polyurethane. The raw product arrives in a clean base color, ready to be stained or painted to match any interior palette, from dark walnut to weathered grey.

This versatile profile is perfect for a wide range of interior and exterior applications. It is commonly utilized in residential living rooms, master bedrooms, rustic kitchens, boutique hotel lobbies, and themed restaurants to create striking ceiling layouts. Additionally, the beam can be installed on covered patios, veranda ceilings, and under roof eaves. For any outdoor applications, applying a high-quality UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect the material from sun-induced discoloration over time.

Installing the P1981A is a straightforward process that requires minimal specialized tools. The beam can be easily cut at 45-degree angles for clean miter joints and mounted using a polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive combined with mechanical screws for permanent security. Do not use silicone adhesives, as they do not offer the required structural bond. The product is delivered with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for painting. However, since paint manufacturers usually require their own primers to validate their paint warranties, applying an additional primer layer is optional and left to the installer's discretion. Once installed, it can be finished with water-based or synthetic paints.
