Decorative log models are polyurethane log options in various diameters and textures that give the look of a natural tree trunk on a ceiling. They are chosen to create a tree-log effect in rustic ceiling, country-house, and bungalow designs. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied with construction adhesive and concealed screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell, or warp, and can be painted. Being far lighter than a real log, it adds no load to the ceiling, attracts no insects, and is unaffected by moisture. Cast in a mould, the wood grain repeats identically on every piece.
