Door Crown Ornament

A door crown ornament is the polyurethane decorative element applied onto the crown (pediment) above a door, or the piece that forms the crown itself. With details such as rosettes, palmettes, leaf motifs or profiled dentils, it adds ornament to the top of the door. It is used at interior and exterior door entrances where a classical or neoclassical look is wanted. The polyurethane material is light and applies directly with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. Being lighter than plaster makes above-door installation easier, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the motif details repeat identically on every piece.
