Architectural Column And Capital

An architectural column and capital is a polyurethane element in which the column shaft, giving a vertical load-bearing appearance, is used together with the capital piece that decorates the top of the shaft. The capital lets the column finish the transition between the shaft and the ceiling or arch in an ornamented way. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied with assembly adhesive and mechanical fixings; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp and can be painted. Compared with stone or plaster it is far lighter and can be installed by one person. Because it is moulded, the shaft and capital details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces the architectural column and capital together in matching sizes.
