It is used in rustic and country style interiors to create the look of structural beams across the ceiling. Unlike a real log, it is lightweight, can be carried by one person and is fixed directly to the ceiling with assembly adhesive and screws. It resists moisture and will not rot, attract insects or crack, and it can be painted any colour. Because it is far lighter than wood, it adds no extra load to the ceiling and installs quickly.
