A polyurethane log end is a polyurethane cap element that completes the head of a log beam or rafter where it emerges from a wall or eave, imitating the cut end of a log. In rustic ceiling and facade applications it is fitted at the point where the beam ends to give a complete log appearance. It is hollow and lightweight and is glued directly to the beam end with assembly adhesive. It resists moisture and impact and will not rot, attract insects or crack, and it can be painted any colour. Models with wood rings and grain pressed into the surface are available. Being lighter than wood, it is quick and easy to install.
