A polyurethane fireplace surround is a decorative polyurethane element that encloses the area around the fireplace opening and forms a mantel shape. Mounted around an electric or bioethanol unit, it creates a focal point in the living room. Polyurethane is light and is fixed to the wall with mounting adhesive or screws; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack or swell and can be painted. Being lighter than marble and stone, it is easy to carry and install and adds no structural load to the wall. The surface can be painted with a marble, wood or solid-colour effect.
