The KSOM8402H is a premium decorative fireplace mantel surround designed to establish an elegant architectural focal point in sophisticated residential and commercial spaces. Engineered as a high-density casing, it serves as an ideal framework for modern electric fireplace inserts or bioethanol burners. Its clean lines and structured profile bring a balanced, neoclassical aesthetic to flat walls, transforming ordinary rooms into warm, visually engaging environments.
Manufactured from rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this mantelpiece offers the solid feel and durability of wood without any of its organic vulnerabilities. With dimensions of 195 mm in depth, 1205 mm in width, and 1050 mm in height, the casing provides a substantial, three-dimensional presence on the wall. Its material properties guarantee dimensional stability across temperatures ranging from -20 °C / +70 °C, and a closed-cell structural composition ensures a water absorption rate of less than 1%.
Visually, the design exhibits a clean, multi-tiered geometric molding profile that steps inward, creating a sophisticated framing effect. This recessed structure draws the eye directly to the center, emphasizing the artificial flame of the insert. The smooth, non-porous surface is free from texture imperfections, ensuring that once painted, the mantel displays a flawless, high-end finish that coordinates beautifully with both classic and minimalist interior themes.
This versatile casing is perfectly suited for living rooms, master bedrooms, library walls, and dining areas. In commercial settings, it elevates the interior design of boutique hotels, corporate offices, and fine dining lounges. Assess water and moisture exposure using the product technical data, surface finish and installation details.
Compared to traditional gypsum plaster or wooden mantels, this polyurethane casing is highly resistant to impact, lightweight, and will not warp, rot, or crack over time. Installation requires applying a polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive along the contact edges, combined with mandatory mechanical screw fastening for absolute stability. The surface comes with a factory-applied primer; however, paint manufacturers often recommend using their specific primers before applying the final two coats of water-based or synthetic paint to ensure full coverage warranty.
