polyurethane beam

A polyurethane beam is a decorative, hollow ceiling beam, made of polyurethane, that gives the look of a real wooden beam. It is surface-mounted to give the ceiling a wooden beam appearance and has no load-bearing function. It is used to create a rustic look on living room, kitchen and home ceilings. The polyurethane is lightweight and is fixed to the ceiling with construction adhesive and a concealed bracket; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or rot and can be painted. Being much lighter than real timber, it can be installed by one person and is unaffected by insects and moisture. As it is mould-cast, the wood texture repeats realistically on the surface. Polure produces its polyurethane beams in a range of lengths, widths and wood textures.
