Rotunda Concept

The rotunda concept adapts to decoration the classical architectural arrangement of a circular plan surrounded by columns and usually topped with a dome. It is a design approach in which columns, cornices and dome-surround ornaments are used together in circular or semicircular halls, entrance areas and large rooms. The polyurethane columns, arches and cornice elements used in this concept are lightweight and can be applied to curved wall surfaces with assembly adhesive. Polyurethane resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp and can be painted; on curved areas it installs more easily than plaster or stone equivalents. Because mould-produced parts repeat the same profile, the circular arrangement looks orderly. Polure produces columns, cornices and arch elements suited to the rotunda concept in matching dimensions.
