column base installation

Column base installation is the process of fixing the base piece that forms the lower foundation of a polyurethane column to the floor and to the column shaft. The base is the section where the column shaft sits; in facade, living room and entrance applications it forms the lower start of the column. Installation is usually done with polyurethane mounting adhesive and, where needed, screws; the surface must be clean and level. Because the polyurethane base is lightweight, it can be carried and positioned by a single person; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp and can be painted after installation. Labour takes less time than with plaster or wood. Polure produces column bases by mold in different diameter and size options; standard sizes make installation alignment easier.
