ceiling medallion panel

A ceiling medallion panel is a polyurethane decorative element applied to the ceiling centre, with the medallion pattern produced in board form. Compared to a standard round medallion, these square or rectangular panels cover a wider surface and are used on living room and hallway ceilings to frame the ceiling centre with a large patterned area. The polyurethane panel is lightweight; it is fixed directly to the ceiling with mounting adhesive and needs no support. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than its plaster equivalent, overhead installation is easy, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-produced, the pattern comes out the same on every panel.
