Installation
Installing a Göbek element requires a clean, dry, and structurally sound mounting surface. The installation process is straightforward when executing the following steps: First, identify the exact center of the ceiling and align it with the electrical junction box. If installing a chandelier, drill a clean hole through the center of the medallion to allow wiring and support rods to pass through. Next, apply a continuous bead of high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive to the rear mounting rim and center flange of the medallion. Do not use silicone adhesives, as they do not offer the required long-term chemical bonding strength for this material. Press the medallion firmly onto the ceiling and secure it mechanically using screws—this mechanical fastening is mandatory to support the weight while the adhesive cures. Fill all screw holes and perimeter gaps with an appropriate joint filler. Once dry, sand the filled areas smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper.
