Compared to fragile plaster (gypsum) or moisture-sensitive wood, rigid PU is shatterproof, highly durable, and easily sandable, making it the preferred choice for modern architectural installations.
The Factory Primer and Coating Guidelines
All items in the Ceiling Medallions and Domes range are delivered with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for subsequent coatings. However, because paint manufacturers do not guarantee adhesion unless their own brand-specific primers are applied, the application of an additional primer layer is optional and remains entirely at the customer's discretion. Polure does not guarantee or accept liability for any paints, coatings, or finishes applied to the products. For outdoor installations, applying a UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent the raw material from yellowing over time.

Installation

Ensure the mounting surface is thoroughly clean, dry, and free of dust. 2. For any joined profiles, perform precise 45-degree miter cuts. 3. Apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive to all contact surfaces; do not use silicone-based adhesives. 4. Mechanical screw fixing is mandatory to secure the weight during and after adhesive curing. 5. Fill all joints and screw holes with appropriate structural putty (exterior-grade putty for outdoor applications). 6. Sand the dry putty using 180-220 grit sandpaper. 7. Apply an optional primer layer if recommended by your paint manufacturer, followed by two coats of high-quality paint. For all outdoor installations, a UV-resistant topcoat is mandatory.
Care Information
Polyurethane architectural elements require minimal maintenance over their long lifespan. Standard cleaning involves dusting with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or strong chemical solvents that could degrade the paint. Because the material does not absorb moisture, it will not crumble, yellow, or crack like gypsum. If a change in the interior color scheme is desired, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted with any compatible water-based or synthetic paint.
