The classic recessed wall element, historically known as a Niş (niche), serves as an elegant solution to introduce three-dimensional relief, shadow lines, and dedicated display areas within premium interior and exterior concepts. Traditionally fabricated from heavy, fragile gypsum plaster or difficult-to-carve stone, modern high-end architectural demands require a more reliable material. Polure engineered structural elements are manufactured using high-density rigid poliüretan with a density of 150-200 kg/m³, providing the robust hardness of wood combined with a lightweight profile that simplifies installation.

The core material of our Niş product range is engineered with a closed-cell structural framework, resulting in a negligible water absorption rate of under 1%. This moisture barrier ensures high dimensional stability, preventing the warping, shrinkage, cracking, or expansion common in natural wood or plaster installations. Designed to withstand demanding environmental conditions, these structural elements maintain their precise form and detail within a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C. Additionally, the material is self-extinguishing, offering improved fire safety compared to standard decorative synthetics.
Surface Preparation and Coating Guidelines
Each Niş unit is supplied with a factory-applied primer coat that creates a uniform surface ready to accept decorative finishes. While this factory primer prepares the surface, paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee paint adhesion unless their own proprietary primers are applied first. Consequently, the application of an additional primer layer is optional and remains at the sole discretion and preference of the customer; Polure does not assume liability or provide warranties for applied paint finishes. The surface can be finished with high-quality water-based or synthetic topcoats. For any exterior applications, the use of a UV-resistant paint is strictly mandatory to prevent surface yellowing over time.

Installation
Installing the Niş requires a systematic approach to ensure safety and aesthetic perfection. Begin by verifying that the receiving wall surface is completely clean, dry, and structurally sound. Mark the precise boundary lines of the product on the wall. If custom adjustments or corner joints are required, perform clean 45-degree miter cuts using standard woodworking hand or power saws. Apply a generous bead of poliüretan (PU) montaj yapıştırıcısı to all contact flanges and rear mounting surfaces; do not use silicone-based adhesives. Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to secure the heavy-duty element while the adhesive cures. Once fixed, conceal all joint lines and screw locations using a premium exterior-grade or interior-grade filler putty. After drying, sand the joints smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper. Apply an optional primer of your choice, followed by two coats of high-quality architectural paint.
Care Information
Maintaining the pristine condition of these high-density elements requires minimal effort. Regular dusting with a soft, dry microfiber cloth is sufficient for general upkeep. For deeper cleaning, the surface can be wiped down with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive soap solution. Avoid using aggressive chemical solvents, acidic cleaners, or abrasive scrubbing pads, as these can degrade the protective paint coating. In the event of minor surface impacts or scratches over years of service, the affected area can be easily repaired with standard acrylic putty, sanded smooth, and spot-painted to match the surrounding finish.
