The P1037 is a high-density architectural relief medallion designed to introduce historical grandeur to premium residential and commercial spaces. Featuring an iconic double-headed heraldic eagle enclosed within a sharply defined eight-pointed star frame, this decorative element acts as a commanding focal point. Whether integrated into classical interior design schemes or utilized as a structural accent on grand facades, this model elevates standard walls into highly detailed architectural statements.
Manufactured from rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this panel provides the structural hardness of traditional wood without the associated vulnerabilities. Measuring 905 mm in width and height with a prominent 43 mm relief depth, the product remains exceptionally lightweight. Its closed-cell structure guarantees water absorption of less than 1%, rendering it highly resistant to rot, swelling, insects, and cracking, which are common failures in plaster or timber alternatives.
Visually, the panel showcases exceptional craftsmanship through its deeply carved relief work. The symmetrical depiction of the historical double-headed eagle—complete with layered wing feathers, stylized talons, and a central tail fan—creates a captivating play of light and shadow. The surrounding octagonal star frame provides a clean geometric boundary that contrasts beautifully with the organic curves of the central emblem, making it a perfect match for neoclassical, Mediterranean, or traditional oriental design aesthetics.
This versatile ornamental panel is ideal for a wide range of high-end projects, including luxury villa entrances, hotel reception areas, traditional restaurants, and boutique office lobbies. Indoors, it can be styled as a majestic centerpiece above fireplaces, within ornamental wall panels (boiserie), or as an accent feature behind reception desks. For exterior applications, it serves as an excellent decorative pediment or facade emblem that withstands harsh weather conditions.
Installation is straightforward and secure when proper techniques are followed. The panel is mounted to clean, dry surfaces using a premium polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive and must be mechanically secured with screws due to its generous dimensions. Once fixed, joints and screw heads are filled with exterior-grade acrylic filler, sanded to a smooth finish, and prepared for painting. Unlike fragile gypsum moldings, this durable material does not crumble during installation, saving significant labor time.
By choosing this advanced polymer alternative over heavy plaster or high-maintenance wood, architects and builders achieve long-lasting structural integrity and refined aesthetics. The P1037 offers an efficient, durable, and highly detailed decorative solution that maintains its sharp profile and dimensional stability for decades.
- The P1037 decorative relief medallion is engineered for both interior accentuation and exterior facade embellishment
- In grand residential properties and luxury villas, it serves as a stunning pediment above main entrance doors, within exterior gables, or on large blank facade walls to break visual monotony
- For interior spaces, it is highly recommended as a central feature piece above fireplaces, inside structured wall molding frames (boiserie layouts), or as a backdrop in high-end hotel lobbies, executive offices, and heritage-themed restaurants
- Because it can be painted in multi-tone finishes, metallic leafing, or patinas, it offers immense creative freedom to match diverse color palettes
- Ensure the installation surface is dry, clean, and structurally sound
- Apply a generous amount of polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive to the rear bonding surface of the panel
- Press the medallion firmly against the wall
- Due to its 905x905 mm dimensions, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure permanent safety
- After the adhesive cures, fill all screw holes and perimeter gaps with a high-quality acrylic filler
- Once the filler is dry, sand the areas smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- The factory-applied primer prepares the surface; however, for optimal results and to maintain paint manufacturer warranties, applying an additional compatible primer is recommended before finishing with two coats of high-quality water-based or synthetic paint (ensure UV-resistant paint is used for all outdoor installations)
- This polyurethane medallion requires minimal maintenance
- For indoor installations, occasional dusting with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a gentle wipe with a damp cloth is sufficient
- For outdoor facade installations, the panel can be cleaned by spraying with low-pressure garden hose water
- Never use high-pressure power washers, abrasive sponges, or harsh chemical solvents, as these can damage the protective paint coating
- Inspect the paint finish on exterior installations every few years to ensure the UV-protective barrier remains intact
Can the P1037 relief panel be installed on outdoor building facades?
Yes, this panel is highly suitable for outdoor use. Made from rigid closed-cell polyurethane with under 1% water absorption, it will not rot, warp, or crack under freeze-thaw cycles. However, you must finish the panel with a high-quality UV-resistant exterior paint to protect it from sun-induced discoloration.
What is the advantage of using polyurethane over traditional plaster for this design?
Traditional plaster is extremely heavy, fragile, and absorbs moisture, leading to cracking and mold over time. This polyurethane panel offers the same sharp, detailed relief depth but at a fraction of the weight, making installation safer and faster, while offering superior impact and moisture resistance.
Do I need to apply an additional primer before painting?
The panel is supplied with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for painting. However, paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee paint adhesion unless their own brand-specific primer is used first. Therefore, applying an additional primer compatible with your topcoat is optional but highly recommended; Polure does not accept liability for paint performance.
Which adhesive should be used for mounting this panel?
You must use a high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive. Standard silicone adhesives do not provide the structural bond required for a panel of this scale. Additionally, because of its 905x905 mm size, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory for safety.
Can I paint this panel in multiple colors or metallic finishes?
Yes. The crisp, deep relief details of the double-headed eagle and the star frame are excellent for artistic painting techniques. You can easily apply gold leafing, dry-brushing, faux stone textures, or multi-color contrasts to emphasize the detailed feathers and geometric borders.
