decorative corbel
A decorative corbel is a curved polyurethane support element with a load-bearing appearance, placed under shelves, consoles, cornices or projections. In classic architecture it is used to give protruding wall surfaces the look of being supported and to decorate corners. The polyurethane material is light and is fixed with assembly adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister and can be painted. Unlike a wood corbel it is not affected by moisture, and compared with plaster it is lighter and more break-resistant. Because it is moulded, the curve and ornament details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces decorative corbels in a range of sizes and forms.
