decorative surround pediment
A decorative surround pediment is the profiled polyurethane finishing element that sits on top of a surround and crowns the opening. It is used above door and window surrounds to give the facade a classic upper finish. The polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and is paintable. On the facade it does not absorb water and, being lighter than plaster or stone equivalents, it is easy to install at height and does not sag over time. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and relief details stay the same on every piece. Polure produces surround pediments in a range of profile and size options.
