Decorative Polyurethane Pediment Crown Overdoor Ornament

The P2842L decorative pediment crown serves as an architectural statement piece designed to elevate door frames, window headers, and grand wall panels. This large-scale ornamental applique brings the classical depth of traditional carvings to modern construction, offering an efficient way to introduce historical character to both residential and commercial projects across Europe.

Engineered from premium rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this ornament shares the structural density of lightweight wood without its natural vulnerabilities. Measuring 90 mm in depth, 1070 mm in width, and 720 mm in height, it provides a highly pronounced three-dimensional profile. The closed-cell composition ensures less than 1% water absorption, rendering it resistant to moisture, swelling, and rot. It maintains its dimensional stability effortlessly across a temperature range of -20 °C / +70 °C.

Visually, the P2842L showcases an exquisite asymmetrical design inspired by classic Rococo and Baroque scrollwork. It features sweeping acanthus leaves, delicate beaded detailing along the lower tail, and a prominent terminal spiral volute. Unlike heavy plaster alternatives that are prone to cracking or chipping, this lightweight polymer reproduction offers crisp, deep-relief details that remain sharp and intact over time, ensuring a high-end finish that stands up to close inspection.

This versatile pediment is ideal for a variety of high-end applications. Use it to crown grand villa entrance doors, frame large-scale luxury mirrors, or ornament high-ceilinged hotel lobby portals. It also serves as a magnificent fireplace mantel embellishment or an exterior facade pediment over prominent windows. When properly coated, it withstands outdoor weathering beautifully, making it a favorite for neo-classical building renovations.

Installation is straightforward and far less labor-intensive than wood or stone. After preparing a clean, dry surface, apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive to the back contact points. Because of the substantial 1070 mm width, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to secure the piece while the adhesive cures. Once fixed, fill screw heads and joins with acrylic putty, sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, apply an optional primer of your choice, and finish with two coats of water-based or synthetic paint.

Ultimately, the P2842L delivers the majestic aesthetic of master-carved historic ornamentation combined with the longevity and ease of modern materials. It offers architects and interior designers a durable, rot-resistant, and low-maintenance alternative that significantly reduces installation times and structural load requirements.
