over-door crown
An over-door crown is a polyurethane decorative element placed on the upper part of a door opening that emphasises its peak. It is used to give the doorway height and an architectural crowning look. The polyurethane is lightweight and applies directly to the wall with construction adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike wood, it is unaffected by moisture and is lighter. Because the pieces are mould-cast, the crown profile and ornament repeat identically on every unit. Polure produces over-door crown models in a range of sizes.
