architectural cornice

An architectural cornice is a polyurethane decorative element that finishes the top of a wall, column or facade section. It is used at the ceiling-wall junction, above doors and windows, and at column capital transitions, giving a space a classical finishing line. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied directly to the surface with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Compared with its plaster equivalent, it has a low risk of breakage and installs faster. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and relief details repeat identically on every piece.
