A carved cut-out panel is a decorative polyurethane panel whose surface is shaped with carving and cutting (decoupage) techniques, leaving open motifs across the face. It is used on wall claddings, screens, niche backings and furniture surfaces as a light-filtering or relief decorative element that creates a solid-and-void contrast. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied directly with construction adhesive, resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike wood cut-out panels, it carries no risk of moisture damage or insects, and unlike plaster it is not brittle.
