polyurethane handrail

A polyurethane handrail is the horizontal polyurethane profile that runs along the top of a staircase or balustrade as a hand grip, connecting the top ends of the balusters. It forms the top line of stair, balcony and terrace balustrades and provides the hand-held surface. The polyurethane material is light and fixed to the balusters and newel posts with assembly adhesive and a mechanical connection; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel, and can be painted. Unlike a wooden handrail, it does not rot outdoors, and it is lighter than a stone handrail. Because the profile section is mould-cast, the same size repeats on every piece. Polure produces the handrail in various section options that match the baluster and newel-post sizes.
