polyurethane beam cover

A polyurethane beam cover is a U- or box-section polyurethane cladding profile fitted over an existing concrete, steel or wood beam to conceal it. It is used on ceilings and transitions to turn exposed structural beams into an aesthetic wood look. The polyurethane material is light and is fixed onto the existing beam with adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister and can be painted. Being lighter than real wood cladding, it is easily installed under the ceiling and is not affected by moisture. Because it is cast in a mould, the section size and wood texture repeat identically across every piece and the joints meet cleanly. Polure produces polyurethane beam covers in various internal size options.
