A polyurethane column foot is the polyurethane base element at the lower section where the column shaft seats on the floor, connecting the shaft to the floor. It visually carries the column's load down to the floor and forms a profiled transition between the shaft and the floor. In decorative column applications it is mounted beneath the shaft. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied with adhesive and dowels; it resists moisture, frost and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. It is far lighter than a stone foot and installs faster; it is also unaffected in the damp area near the floor. Because it is cast in a mould, the profile detail repeats identically on every piece.
