Decorative Polyurethane Pilaster Column Base Plinth

The P5018B is a high-density architectural element designed to serve as a decorative base or plinth block for flat pilaster columns. Measuring 51 mm in depth, 230 mm in width, and 450 mm in height, this component provides a solid, visually grounding foundation for wall-mounted pilasters. It bridges the gap between the floor or skirting board and the column shaft, creating a balanced, professional architectural transition in both classical and contemporary projects.

Manufactured from rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this plinth block offers a hard, wood-like surface durability while remaining lightweight. Its closed-cell structure offers moisture resistance, helping prevent rotting, swelling, or warping, making it highly reliable for humid interiors or exterior facades. Unlike traditional plaster, it does not chip or crumble during transport or installation, ensuring long-term structural integrity.

The visual design of the P5018B features a stepped classical crown profile at the top, accented by a delicate repeating leaf-pattern molding. Below this ornamental transition, the main body showcases a deeply recessed rectangular panel enclosing a central stylized starburst or floral relief. This symmetrical geometric carving adds depth and shadows, enhancing the dimensional quality of flat wall surfaces and complementing standard pilaster shafts.

This versatile architectural base is suitable for a wide range of applications. In high-end residential interiors, it anchors decorative wall pillars in grand entryways, dining halls, and library walls. For commercial spaces such as boutique hotels, reception lobbies, or restaurants, it establishes a premium classical structure. On exterior facades, it can be paired with durable exterior paints to flank main entrance gates, porticos, or decorative window framings.

Installation is straightforward and efficient. The lightweight block is mounted using a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive combined with mechanical screws for permanent stability. The surface comes pre-treated with a white factory primer that prepares the material for final coating. Applying an additional primer before painting is optional and depends on your paint manufacturer's specific guidelines. Once installed, joint gaps and screw heads are filled, sanded, and finished with two coats of water-based or synthetic paint.
