Technical Specifications of High-Density Wood-Look Cladding
The Ahşap Panel category represents an advanced structural decor solution engineered from rigid polyurethane. With a density profile of 150-200 kg/m³, these panels deliver a surface hardness similar to natural timber while maintaining a lightweight composition. This optimal density ensures high dimensional stability, preventing warping, shrinkage, or thermal expansion under fluctuating environmental conditions. The material exhibits an exceptional temperature tolerance from -20°C to +80°C without experiencing any loss of form or structural integrity.
From a physical performance standpoint, the closed-cell structure of the material restricts water absorption to less than 1%, rendering it practically impervious to moisture. Unlike traditional timber, which suffers from rot, fungal decay, and insect infestations, these synthetic panels retain their precise dimensions and structural characteristics indefinitely. Additionally, the material features self-extinguishing fire-retardant properties, meaning it ceases to burn once the external flame source is removed, enhancing the safety profile of interior and exterior installations.
Dimensional Variety and System Architecture
The Ahşap Panel collection comprises specific models designed to meet various architectural scales and aesthetic preferences:
- P1923: Measuring 30x3000x230 mm, ideal for uniform vertical or horizontal lines over large surface areas.
- P1927: Measuring 26x3000x270 mm, offering a balanced profile for detailed wall designs.
- P1940: Measuring 35x3000x420 mm, providing a bold, wide-plank appearance for rustic or industrial facades.
Every profile is manufactured using high-pressure molding techniques that replicate natural wood grains, knots, and textures with high fidelity. The panels are delivered with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for painting. However, because paint manufacturers do not guarantee their coatings when applied without their specific proprietary primers, applying an additional primer layer is optional and remains at the discretion of the customer. Polure does not provide warranties for applied paints and accepts no liability for paint finish performance.
Usage Areas
Ahşap Panel profiles are highly versatile, suitable for both interior and exterior environments. Indoors, they are commonly applied to accent walls, television backdrops, ceiling beams, and high-humidity areas such as bathrooms and indoor pools where natural timber would fail due to moisture. Outdoors, they serve as durable cladding for building facades, soffits, eaves, and entryway portals. In commercial settings like restaurants, cafes, and hotels, they provide a durable, low-maintenance wood-effect surface that withstands daily wear and tear.
Installation
Successful installation requires adhering to precise mechanical and chemical steps. First, ensure the application surface is completely clean, dry, and level. Cut the panels at 45-degree miter angles for seamless joints. Apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive along the rear bonding channels of the panel. Note that silicone-based adhesives must not be used under any circumstances. Secure the panel mechanically using screws to ensure permanent positioning. Fill all joint lines and screw heads with exterior-grade putty, then sand the dry surface using 180-220 grit sandpaper. Apply a primer layer if desired, and finish with two coats of high-quality paint. For exterior applications, the use of UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent yellowing.
Care Information
Maintenance of these panels is straightforward due to their non-porous, closed-cell surface. Regular cleaning can be performed using a soft, damp cloth with non-abrasive household detergents. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents or abrasive brushes. Because the water absorption rate is under 1%, the panels will not swell or degrade. For outdoor installations, refreshing the UV-resistant paint coat every 5 to 10 years, depending on regional sun exposure, will preserve the surface finish.
