Surface Finishing, Primer, and Paint Compatibility
Every column from our factory is delivered with a pre-applied matte primer that prepares the surface for final coating. This factory-applied primer is compatible with high-quality water-based and synthetic paints. However, please note that paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee paint adhesion on pre-primed surfaces unless their own proprietary primer is applied first. Therefore, applying an additional primer coat on-site is optional and remains entirely at the customer's discretion. Polure does not provide paint warranties and accepts no liability for the performance of third-party coatings. For all outdoor installations, the application of a high-quality, UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory to protect the polyurethane material from yellowing and environmental degradation over time.

Installation
Successful installation of polyurethane fluted columns requires careful surface preparation and the correct materials. Begin by ensuring all mating surfaces are completely clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. Columns can be cut to the desired height using a fine-toothed hand saw or a power miter saw. For joining sections, apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive evenly across all joint profiles and mounting boundaries. Do not use silicone-based adhesives. Mechanical fixing with screws is mandatory to secure the heavy-duty components in place during the adhesive curing process. Once secured, fill all screw holes and joint seams with an exterior-grade acrylic putty. After the putty has dried, sand the joints smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper. Finally, apply an optional primer if required by your paint manufacturer, followed by two coats of premium interior or UV-resistant exterior paint.
Care Information
Maintaining the pristine appearance of Polure fluted columns is exceptionally straightforward. Because the rigid polyurethane material has low static electricity, it does not actively attract dust, and its closed-cell structure prevents moisture retention. Regular cleaning can be completed using a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive household detergent. If the columns experience minor impact damage over time, the affected area can be easily restored by filling it with standard acrylic putty, sanding it with fine-grit sandpaper, and applying a touch-up coat of matching paint.
