A classical architectural plinth is the base element placed beneath columns, posts, or decorative pieces, raising them off the floor and carrying their weight. In classical orders it serves as the lower section supporting the column shaft, and it also acts as a structural and visual base under brackets, vases, and statues. Plinths made from polyurethane are lightweight and, unlike stone or plaster versions, mount directly with construction adhesive. They resist moisture and impact, will not crack or swell, and can be painted any colour.
