Decorative Polyurethane Pilaster Capital Model P5014A

The P5014A is a premium decorative polyurethane pilaster capital designed to crown flat column systems on both interior walls and exterior building facades. Serving as an architectural focal point, this capital adds classical grandeur and historical depth to otherwise plain vertical surfaces without the heavy structural load of cast stone or plaster.

Engineered with a width of 218 mm, a height of 189 mm, and a projection depth of 69 mm, this structural component features a rigid polyurethane composition. Boasting a high density of 150-220 kg/m³, it offers a wood-like surface hardness while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Its closed-cell structure keeps water absorption below 1%, preventing warping, rotting, or swelling, and maintains outstanding dimensional stability in temperatures ranging from -20 °C / +70 °C.

Visually, the P5014A capital showcases neoclassical symmetry, defined by two prominent Ionic volutes or spiral scrolls on either side. The center is ornamented with a detailed egg-and-dart relief pattern, resting on a series of delicate fluted beads. The precision of the modern molding process ensures incredibly sharp, crisp shadow lines that mock-ups in plaster or EPS foam simply cannot replicate, adding immediate luxury to any project.

This versatile architectural ornament is ideal for framing grand entrances, defining fireplace surrounds, or embellishing pilasters in hotel lobbies, luxury offices, and residential dining rooms. When treated with a UV-resistant topcoat, it serves as a durable accent on exterior porticos, pilaster columns, and window trims, standing up to harsh weather conditions without deteriorating.

Installation is straightforward due to the lightweight nature of polyurethane elements. The process requires applying a high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive to the back of the piece, followed by mandatory mechanical fastening with screws. Once the adhesive cures, screw heads and joints are easily filled with filler, sanded smooth, and prepared for painting. An additional primer coat is optional depending on your paint manufacturer's guidelines, followed by two coats of water-based or synthetic paint.

Choosing high-density PU over traditional wood or plaster guarantees a long-lasting, low-maintenance installation. It will not crack over time due to building settling, nor will it fall victim to insect damage or rot, making it a reliable and cost-effective choice for modern architectural designs.
