fluted half column

A fluted half column is a polyurethane column element whose body is split lengthwise in two and applied flush against the wall, with vertical grooves on it. Since it has half the depth of a full column, it creates a column effect on a flat wall while projecting little from the wall. It is used to frame door and window edges, divide wide walls and create a classical architectural rhythm. The flutes add vertical lines and a light-and-shadow transition to the body. Being made of polyurethane, it is lightweight and, thanks to its flat back, easily bonded to the wall with adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or warp, and its surface can be painted. Polure produces fluted half columns with matching capital and base pieces and standard flute spacing. This way, the half column forms a unified composition with the surrounding casings and cornice elements, and alignment is preserved after installation.
