Fluted Polyurethane Pilaster Column Shaft Decoration

The P5014 fluted pilaster column shaft is a premium architectural element engineered to introduce classical verticality and structural elegance to high-end design projects. Serving as a flat, surface-mounted column profile, this element provides the visual grandeur of traditional architecture without the bulk of structural columns. It acts as a versatile design tool for defining wall sections, framing entryways, and elevating the overall scale of both interior and exterior environments.

Manufactured with a precise dimension of 20x140x2000 mm, this pilaster shaft features a slim 20mm depth that integrates seamlessly onto flat walls, ensuring it does not protrude excessively into functional walk spaces. It is crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), giving it a wood-like surface hardness that resists impacts and daily wear. Unlike plaster, which is prone to chipping, or timber, which suffers from moisture expansion, this material maintains excellent dimensional stability with low water absorption (below 1%), helping it withstand rot and insects well.

Visually, the P5014 is characterized by its crisp, parallel vertical fluting (kanellür) that runs the entire length of the 2-meter shaft. This classical motif plays with light and shadow, creating a sense of increased ceiling height and architectural depth. The symmetrical grooves are highly detailed, offering a level of sharpness that cannot be replicated with traditional gypsum or rough EPS foam. It blends effortlessly into neoclassical, Georgian, and modern transitional design schemes.

This durable pilaster column is highly adaptable for diverse architectural layouts. In interior design, it is frequently utilized to frame grand fireplaces, partition expansive hotel lobbies, flank library shelving, or create sophisticated wall paneling sequences in dining rooms and corridors. For exterior applications, it is an excellent choice for framing main entrance portals, accentuating window trims, and adding classical rhythm to residential or commercial facades when coated with UV-resistant paint.

For installation, ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and level. The shaft must be applied using a quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive—do not use silicone, as it lacks the necessary structural bond. Mechanical fastening with screws or nails is mandatory to secure the profile during the adhesive curing process. The product arrives with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for painting. However, because paint manufacturers require their own primers to validate their warranties, applying an additional primer coat remains optional and at the discretion of the installer. Finish with two coats of high-quality water-based or synthetic paint.
