A decorative base is the polyurethane base part that rests on the floor under a column or vertical element. It connects the element to the floor, completes its lower section and forms the lower element that sets the proportion. Indoors it is used under columns and half-columns, and outdoors where entrance and arcade elements connect to the floor. The polyurethane base is light; it is fixed to the floor and shaft with construction adhesive and supported with screws when needed. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or peel, and can be painted; it has an advantage over wood in areas in contact with the floor. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and dimensions are reproduced exactly on every piece.
