Round Polyurethane Column Base and Decorative Pedestal

The P5960B represents a high-density architectural component designed to provide a structural and visual foundation for columnar installations. Engineered specifically for both interior and exterior grand designs, this round pedestal base serves as a crucial transition element between the floor and the column shaft. Its robust profile instantly elevates the architectural weight and presence of entryways, foyers, or facades without the structural penalties of traditional masonry.

Measuring a substantial 768 mm in diameter with a height of 340 mm, this base is molded from rigid polymer material with a density of 150-220 kg/m³. This specific density replicates the physical hardness and impact resistance of solid wood while remaining remarkably lightweight. With a water absorption rate of less than 1%, the closed-cell structure prevents rot, swelling, or warping over time, ensuring outstanding dimensional stability in variable climates.

Visually, the P5960B features a series of smooth, concentric stepped rings that taper elegantly upward. This classic torus-and-scotia configuration creates deep shadow lines, adding depth and a sense of architectural authenticity to any column assembly. The flawless, non-porous surface is factory-treated with a primer coat, providing an ideal substrate for final finishing.

This versatile base is ideal for framing monumental porticos, defining luxury hotel lobbies, or supporting decorative columns in spacious residential salons and covered terraces. Whether utilized to ground load-bearing structural columns or purely decorative pilasters, its scale makes it highly suitable for large-scale commercial or high-end residential projects.

Compared to heavy cast stone or fragile plaster alternatives, installation is highly efficient and safe. The base is secured using a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive combined with mandatory mechanical screw fastening. Once filled, sanded, and painted with two coats of high-quality paint (UV-resistant paint is mandatory for outdoor applications), it delivers a seamless, monolithic appearance.

The factory-applied primer prepares the surface for painting; however, because paint manufacturers often require their own proprietary primers to validate warranties, an additional primer coat remains optional based on professional preference. By choosing this advanced polymer solution, architects and builders gain a durable, low-maintenance component that withstands moisture and impact while maintaining historic aesthetic standards.
