Polyurethane Round Column Base and Capital Plinth Mold

The P5920B is a high-quality architectural element designed to serve as a robust and visually balanced round column base or capital. Featuring a classic stepped torus profile, this structural ornament provides a clean transition between the column shaft and the floor or ceiling. It is engineered to deliver both aesthetic value and protective durability to load-bearing or decorative columns in residential and commercial environments.

Measuring 256x256x114 mm, this molded component is manufactured from rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³. This high-density formulation offers a hardness comparable to natural wood while remaining significantly lighter, reducing structural load. Its closed-cell structure provides moisture resistance, helping to limit rotting, swelling, warping, or insect infestation, with dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.

Visually, the P5920B presents a smooth, flawless surface with a double-ringed convex profile. The balanced symmetry of the molded curves catches light naturally, adding depth and shadow lines to any column assembly. The factory-applied primer coat creates an even surface, preparing the piece for final painting. While this factory coating facilitates paint adhesion, applying an additional primer recommended by your paint manufacturer remains optional but highly recommended for long-term paint warranties.

This versatile architectural base is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It can be integrated into grand entrance halls, hotel lobbies, wedding venues, garden pergolas, and residential porticos. Whether paired with hollow decorative columns or wrapped around existing structural pillars, it provides an authentic neoclassical look that enhances porches, balconies, and interior partition columns.

Unlike heavy plaster or cast concrete bases, this lightweight alternative is easy to handle and install using standard woodworking tools. Mounting requires securing the base with a polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive, supplemented by mechanical screws for absolute stability. Once the joints are filled with exterior-grade mastic and sanded smooth, the surface can be finished with water-based or synthetic paints. For outdoor installations, a UV-resistant topcoat is mandatory to prevent yellowing over time.

Choosing this advanced material over traditional plaster or MDF guarantees a maintenance-free lifecycle. It will not chip during installation, nor will it degrade when exposed to heavy rain, damp floors, or high humidity. This makes it an exceptionally cost-effective and reliable investment for architects, builders, and interior designers aiming for high-end finishes with minimal labor costs.
