A classic column foot is a polyurethane base part forming the lowest section of a classic column, carrying the shaft to the floor. It is used to neatly finish the lower transition of the column and complete its classic form. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. It is much lighter than a stone or plaster foot and, unlike timber, is not affected by moisture. Because each piece is mould-cast, the profile details repeat identically across every unit.
