Polyurethane Decorative Smooth Column Shaft 30x240 cm

The P5830B column shaft is a premium decorative element designed for modern and classical architectural projects. With a substantial diameter of 300 mm and a standard height of 2400 mm, this smooth-surfaced cylinder brings a clean, minimalist structural aesthetic to any space. It acts as an excellent decorative pillar, offering a versatile foundation that can be styled to fit various design themes.

Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), this column shaft offers a wood-like surface hardness while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Its closed-cell structure guarantees superior dimensional stability with a water absorption rate of under 1%, making it highly resistant to rot, moisture, and swelling. The product comes finished with a factory-applied primer coat that prepares the surface for painting. However, because paint manufacturers typically require their own specialized primers to maintain their product warranties, applying an additional primer is optional and remains at the customer's discretion. Please note that Polure does not provide paint warranties or accept liability for paint performance.

Visually, the shaft features a smooth, non-fluted exterior that aligns perfectly with contemporary minimalist design trends. For projects requiring a more traditional look, this shaft can be seamlessly combined with Doric, Ionic, or Corinthian capitals and matching bases. The hollow core design is highly functional, allowing it to easily conceal internal steel support beams, electrical wiring, or plumbing pipes without compromising the exterior visual flow.

This column is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. It is frequently specified for grand villa entrances, residential living areas, hotel lobbies, and wedding halls. Because of its lightweight construction, it does not add significant dead weight to the building's structural load, making it a safer and more practical alternative to heavy traditional materials.

Installation is straightforward compared to heavy stone or plaster alternatives. The process involves preparing a clean, dry surface, cutting the shaft to the required height, and applying polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive to the joints. Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure structural safety. Once secured, the joints and screw heads are filled with exterior-grade filler, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, and finished with two coats of paint. For outdoor installations, utilizing high-quality, UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent yellowing.
