A carved wall panel is a polyurethane panel applied as wall cladding that carries carved-look relief motifs on its surface. It is used to give walls a decorative surface, a partition appearance or a focal area. Polyurethane is lightweight and is fixed directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. It is lighter than a carved wood panel and, being unaffected by moisture, can also be used in areas near wet rooms. Because it is mould-produced, the carved details repeat identically on every panel, providing a continuous pattern across large wall surfaces.
