A polyurethane column footing is the foot part located beneath the column shaft that seats the column on the floor. It forms a profiled transition at the lower end of the shaft and connects the column to the ground; it serves the same function as the base and is used as part of a set with the capital and shaft. In entrance, hall and facade column arrangements it completes the section where the column rests on the floor. The polyurethane footing is light, easier to carry than stone or concrete, and applied to the floor with installation adhesive. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or peel, and can be painted, so it can also be used in damp areas near the floor.
