A polyurethane pediment is a decorative polyurethane profile or ornament placed above a door, window or piece of furniture to crown its top edge. It is generally used to emphasise the upper section of an opening and create a classical architectural transition; it can be applied together with surrounds and cornices. It is used indoors and outdoors above doors and windows and in wall arrangements. The polyurethane pediment is light, easier to carry than plaster or wood, and applied directly to the surface with installation adhesive. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or peel, and can be painted, so it can also be used on exterior facades.
