Rustic Rafter

A rustic rafter is a wood-textured polyurethane decorative element that resembles the timber rafters placed perpendicular to beams in roof and ceiling architecture. It is used on open ceilings, in canopies and between beams to give a rustic timber appearance. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Unlike a real timber rafter it does not absorb moisture and swell, does not rot and is not attacked by insects; it requires no structural load and can be carried by one person. Because the wood grain texture on the surface is mould-produced, it repeats identically on every piece. Polure produces rustic rafters in various sizes and textures.
