ceiling medallion

A ceiling medallion is a round or oval polyurethane decorative element applied to the centre of the ceiling, usually around the chandelier axis. It is used on living room, hallway, dining room and entrance ceilings to frame the chandelier connection point and add pattern to the ceiling centre. The polyurethane medallion is lightweight; it is fixed directly to the ceiling with mounting adhesive and needs no screws or support. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being much lighter than a plaster medallion, overhead installation is easy and the risk of it falling is low, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture.
