A decorative window surround is a polyurethane moulding profile that frames the edges of a window opening. Applied around the four sides, or to the side and top edges, of a window opening on building facades, it forms a frame around the window and adds emphasis to the elevation. Polyurethane is lightweight, so it is fixed to the facade with construction adhesive and dowels, and installation is faster than with stone or plaster surrounds. It resists moisture and outdoor weather, does not crack or blister, and can be coated with exterior facade paint.
