Polyurethane Window Frame and Architrave Profile

The P85401 polyurethane architrave and window frame profile is a high-performance architectural element designed to deliver exceptional visual structure to both interior walls and exterior building facades. Engineered to meet the rigorous demands of modern construction, this profile serves as an elegant border that defines transitions, frames windows and doors, and adds a sense of refined geometry to plain surfaces. Its clean, stepped geometry makes it highly versatile, fitting seamlessly into contemporary minimalist designs as well as classic neoclassical projects.

With precise dimensions of 49 mm in width, 2400 mm in length, and a 70 mm projection, the P85401 offers an ideal scale for medium to large-scale framing. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), the profile matches the density and sturdiness of traditional softwood while remaining significantly lighter. This closed-cell structural composition ensures a water absorption rate of less than 1%, rendering it highly resistant to rot, decay, and insect infestations. Furthermore, its dimensional stability, tested between -20 °C and +70 °C, prevents warping, shrinking, or cracking.

Visually, the P85401 features a sophisticated combination of sharp, stepped linear ridges paired with a gentle cove curve. This specific profile configuration, visible in its cross-section, captures light dynamically, producing crisp shadow lines that emphasize the architectural depth of a facade or interior wall. Unlike plaster which is highly fragile and prone to chipping, or MDF which swells in humid conditions, this polyurethane profile retains its sharp details and smooth exterior texture over its entire lifespan.

This profile is widely utilized by architects and builders for framing exterior windows and entrance doors on luxury villas, commercial facades, and historical restoration projects. Indoors, it excels as a high-profile crown molding, a decorative horizontal band (belt course), or as part of a custom wall paneling system in high-traffic environments such as hotel lobbies, corporate offices, and premium residential spaces.

Installation is straightforward and efficient. The lightweight nature of the P85401 allows for easy cutting at 45-degree angles using standard woodworking tools. Mounting requires a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive combined with mechanical screws for permanent stability. The surface comes pre-treated with a factory-applied primer, providing an excellent base for finishing. While this factory primer prepares the profile for painting, applying an additional primer is optional and remains the preference of the installer based on the specific paint manufacturer's warranty requirements. Finish with two coats of water-based or synthetic paint; for outdoor applications, a UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory to prevent discoloration.
