Decorative Polyurethane Window Frame and Splay Cornice Profile

The P1456 profile serves as a highly durable, dual-purpose architectural element designed for both premium interior crown molding and exterior window framing (architrave). Engineered to withstand the elements while delivering sharp, classical lines, this decorative moulding provides an immediate aesthetic upgrade to residential villas, commercial facades, and upscale hospitality projects.

Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), this profile matches the hardness of traditional timber but is significantly lighter and highly resistant to moisture. Measuring 137 mm in profile height with a standard length of 2400 mm, its closed-cell molecular structure ensures a water absorption rate of less than 1%. This prevents swelling, warping, splitting, or rotting across seasonal fluctuations, with dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.

Visually, the P1456 features an elegant stepped S-curve (cyma reversa) profile that creates deep, dramatic shadow lines when exposed to natural light. The integrated mounting flange shown in the cross-section ensures a secure, flat fitment against wall surfaces, while the hollow back cavity allows for easy routing of wiring or minor surface unevenness. The smooth, factory-applied primer coat provides an ideal substrate for final finishing.

This versatile profile is highly recommended for framing exterior windows and doors, creating horizontal floor-separating bands (belt courses), or forming decorative roof eaves. Indoors, it excels as a grand crown molding in high-ceilinged reception rooms, hotel lobbies, and hallways. When applied to exterior facades, a high-quality UV-resistant paint must be used to protect the material from discoloration.

Installation is highly efficient compared to heavy stone or brittle plaster alternatives. The lightweight sections are cut at 45-degree angles, secured using a high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive, and mechanically fastened with screws. Once joints are filled with exterior-grade acrylic filler and sanded, they are ready for painting. While the factory primer prepares the surface, applying an additional primer according to your paint manufacturer's guidelines is optional but recommended to ensure full paint performance warranties.
