polyurethane column base

A polyurethane column base is the polyurethane version of the base part that sits on the floor at the bottom of a column, pilaster or decorative element and appears to support the shaft. It is used at the transition between the column shaft and the floor to form the base of the column. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied to the floor and column shaft with mounting adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and despite its position close to the floor it is not affected by moisture. It can be painted after priming to match the colour of the room. Compared with stone or wood bases it is lighter and faster to install. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and bevel details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces column bases in sizes suited to different column diameters.
