fluted column

A fluted column is a polyurethane column element with vertical grooves running along its body. The flutes give the column shaft vertical lines, creating a light-and-shadow transition on the surface and reproducing the channelled detail often seen in classical architecture. Indoors it is used in living rooms and entrance halls, and outdoors on facades and entrance areas, to clad load-bearing columns or to stand independently for decorative purposes. Being made of polyurethane, it is lightweight and easy and quick to install; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or warp, and its surface can be painted. Polure produces fluted columns as capital, shaft and base pieces with matching proportions; the flute spacing and shaft diameter are kept standard. This way, in multi-part column arrangements the pieces align cleanly, the shaft seams join seamlessly, and a unified look is achieved after installation.
