Polyurethane Wood Look Corbel and Beam Support

The P1981DK2 decorative corbel is a heavy-duty architectural element designed to replicate the rugged beauty of aged timber beams. Serving as a visual anchor in rustic, country, or industrial designs, this faux-wood corbel bridges the gap between historical craftsmanship and modern material engineering. It provides the deep, tactile presence of solid oak or pine without the structural weight, cracking, or installation complexity associated with natural logs.

Meticulously manufactured from rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this robust support element matches the hardness of softwoods while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Measuring 290 mm in width, 345 mm in depth, and 550 mm in height, its substantial dimensions make it a powerful focal point. Unlike natural timber, it is highly resistant to moisture, wood-boring insects, and rot, ensuring good dimensional stability across temperature fluctuations between -20 °C / +70 °C.

The visual surface of the P1981DK2 is highly detailed, featuring realistic concentric growth rings on its end-grain cross-sections and deeply embossed wood grains along its sweeping curved profile. This stepped, tiered design mimics the look of hand-hewn structural supports found in traditional chalets and historic manors. The white factory-applied primer provides a clean, textured surface that is ready for custom staining, faux-wood painting, or solid color coats to match your specific interior or exterior palette.

Perfect for high-ceiling living rooms, commercial lounges, and exterior facades, this corbel is commonly positioned directly beneath faux ceiling beams or heavy mantelpieces to create a convincing load-bearing illusion. Outdoors, it serves as a decorative rafter tail under roof eaves, a support motif for veranda columns, or an accent piece beneath balcony projections. It enhances the character of residential villas, boutique hotels, and rustic-themed restaurants with ease.

Installing this architectural element is straightforward compared to heavy timber or fragile plaster alternatives. It is secured to clean, dry surfaces using polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive combined with mechanical screws for a permanent bond. While the factory-applied primer prepares the surface for painting, applying an additional primer is optional and depends on the specific recommendations of your chosen paint manufacturer. For outdoor projects, applying a high-quality, UV-resistant topcoat is essential to prevent discoloration over time.
