Decorative Polyurethane Faux Wood Beam Profile

Introducing a premium architectural element designed to bring the rustic charm of traditional timber framing to modern spaces without the structural drawbacks of solid wood. This hollow, U-shaped decorative profile replicates the authentic texture of aged oak, complete with realistic grain lines and natural-looking cracks. It serves as an excellent ceiling feature for both residential and commercial projects seeking an organic, warm aesthetic.

Measuring 350 mm in width, 320 mm in height, and 3000 mm in length, this large-scale beam is crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³). Unlike heavy timber, it is lightweight, minimizing dead load on ceilings while offering high structural stability. It boasts a water absorption rate of less than 1% and resists temperatures from -20°C to +80°C, ensuring it will not warp, rot, or attract pests over time.

The surface features a detailed 3D molded texture that captures the tactile feel of hand-hewn lumber. Delivered with a factory-applied primer, the surface is ready for finishing. While this base layer prepares the profile for painting, applying an additional primer compatible with your chosen topcoat is optional and depends on the paint manufacturer's guidelines. For outdoor applications, finishing with a UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent discoloration.

This hollow-core design is highly practical, allowing installers to hide electrical wiring, pipes, or structural steel columns inside the channel. It is ideal for high-ceiling living rooms, rustic villa interiors, restaurant dining areas, and hotel lobbies. Because the material is highly resistant to moisture, it can also be used in covered patios, spa areas, or external roof overhangs when coated with appropriate outdoor-grade paints.

Mounting is straightforward compared to heavy timber. The process requires cutting the profile with standard woodworking tools, securing it to the ceiling using mechanical fasteners (screws) alongside a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive, and filling any joints with suitable filler. After a light sanding and applying a topcoat, the installation is complete. It requires minimal maintenance and can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth.
